Rod keepers

Postby chiv » Tue Apr 26, 2011 4:25 pm

i have ben most unfortunate to have lost a rod once while yakking around some boats.

the rod snagged and was dislodged from the rod holder.

was a nice pflueger trion too... luckily the reel wasnt too flash.

anyways, weather has been crap and i got bored.

i gathered up some loose junk i had lying around and came up with a rod keeper!!

check it out. i wanted something that wasnt in the way, functional and wasnt willing to spend $25 per rod keep (cant believe they go for so much!!)

the end product im pretty pleased with. i used rope for the illustration but will be using some bungee when i set the yak up. (when weather gets better)

i'd mount it to my rod holders with a bit of tension to keep it secure.

the buckle works a treat and once its released, its totally out of the way.

No more lost rods for you, they should do the trick
