Just been "pouring " over a good silicon mould making site (forum)

http://www.tackleunderground.com/commun ... ne__st__40

and a sculpture site

http://www.sculpture.net/community/show ... 661&page=2

Basically they are about getting you hardware silicon to set quick and without bubbles ( after you have made the impression
Then you cast what you want.
I was thinking of making some harbody lures by shaping Balsa wood alla Rapala but I think I would prefer something that I could
cast rather than inventing the wheel everytime I wanted a lure.
They are probably make on automatic lathes for consistany.

Casting would be a great option for soft plastics.

Lots of info make yourself a cup of tea first

Marine side
Have you looked at the links above? Pages and pages of info, Just shows you what a forum can do to resolve a problem.
They start off my mixing a bit of water with hardware silicon to speeded up the the setting.
I haven't tried it but it would be a lot cheaper than getting that flashy soft mold stuff that jewellers and denists use.
I did a year of sculpture at college and once we made the flexy mold we would then key it into a plastermold
giving it mroe stability and alignment with the other part of the mold.
Think I will stick with the tackle shops
Gulp! :D
