Amas on Hobie Outback

Postby troutfisher » Sat May 12, 2012 10:13 am

I have just bought a sail for my Hobie outback and have been out a couple of times. Thanks to the photos posted by mingle, I have made a sail furler from pvc pipe. I felt quite secure sailing the outback without amas in wind up to 10 knots, I'm wondering whether it is worthwhile to purchase amas to make sailing safer in open water? My main concern is if you do manage to capsize the outback when you have amas attached, how easy is it to right again?
Cheers
