Clickstand looks awsome and I can certainly see a number of excellent advantages.

Packs up smaller than a conventional Trangia

Has the advantage of using the Trangia Burner plus use of a wind shield.

When you buy it in it's basic form it's much cheaper than units where you have to buy their pots and pans like the Trangia. Where I am coming from with this statement is a cheaper unit allows the money saved to be spent on pots and pans you decided to purchase eg titanium, stainless, Aluminium etc pots or pans in any combination.

The other thing I like is the option to use Hexamine tablets if you don't want to use metho burner.

I would have been happy to go Clickstand and in my original
Earlier posting I did state in many ways it was superior to a conventional Trangia

I went with the Trangia Mini because it was cheap. The pot and stove/ fry pan is a complete system ( no more purchasing required) , I like the size and the pot will only be used for boiling water for meals and the fry pan for cooking / frying. If the Trangia Mini did not come with a non stick pan I would NOT have purchased it.

But because it did come with a non stick pan and a no BS cooker, plus it has been tested and designed for extreme solo sports environment eg the KIMM ( extreme mountaineering/ orienteering event over a few days) I decided to purchase it.

The final sweetner was, it's an off the shelf system complete and ready to go which you can purchase from BCF.

I plan to our purchase a Clickstand down the track with some bigger anodised pots/ pans.

Trangia Mini - $63 it was mine and out the door. It's small enough to pack on my motorbike or backpack for hunting trips and handy enough to feed 1-2 people which I've done already.

I've been spending time at home experimenting with what I can and can't do ( food wise) with the Trangia Mini.

I'm trying to get as fancy and clever as possible with what I can cook on the Trangia Mini. At the moment all my cooking is based on what I can research ( others have done), plus my own trial and error in the kitchen.

Cheers

Hi Shoota,

I was looking at the mini, but since I already have 4 pans, I thought the Clikstand looks a bit better, plus (assuming it arrives!) it only cost me $63.50

I'd be interested to hear/see how you go with your recipes - Trangia Masterchef? :-)

I also found a very helpful seller on eBay (no connection), who has Trangias for very decent prices:

Cheers,

Mike.

Mike,

Thanks for the link mate, I did research earlier on various price comparison websites, but nothin as cheap as the site you have suggested. Great prices for those hunting a new Trangia.

I've found heaps of Trangia Recipes including cakes , apple cobbler, hot dinners etc. Not hard to find them through different combinations of using words like: Trangia, cookbook, recipes etc.

Cheers

It's also worth noting that Anaconda have 20% off all Trangia gear at the moment...

Not all bargains, but some things, like the pan-gripper and fuel bottles were pretty good value compared to any other prices I could find.

Cheers,

Mike.

Anaconda catalogue just rolled in, Trangia 27-1 for $116 or a Jetboil for $120.

Also there is 10% off for Club members this Thursday night. That's on top of sale prices.

was looking at a full trangia set 27-1ha, the full hard anodised set for overnighters in the yak. But at 200 bucks i looked around and found a full anodised imitation trangia for 70 buck. The "pretender" is actually closer in size to the 25 series trangia and the quality seems to be the same as genuine.
I know which one im buying :) :) :) ,but makes me wonder how trangia can charge so much.

I have "Arachnoiditis" and hate it! And just like this thread, nothing to do with spiders either ;-) .

I have been eyeing off the Primus Omni fuel for some time, just cannot justify the price. Anyone have one or tried them?

Hey Shoota,

I was in Ray's Outdoors today and they have an almost exact copy of the Trangia 25 series (hard anodised) for $99.

I think Anaconda also have the same thing under their brand. Also Kathmandu have the same set branded under their name.

Looked okay. I think (since Anaconda have 20% off Trangia) you could get it even cheaper.

If I hadn't just spent almost 100 bucks on camping cookware I would've grabbed one.

Cheers,

Mike.

Sportz Trek is the brand name of the trangia look-a-like. They do a full stove set up and a mini stove set up similar to the 28 series trangia. .....but cheaper

I just picked up the Trangia 1 litre fuel bottle from Anaconda for $21.60 (20% off plus an extra 10% for club members).

That's the cheaperst I've seen it in Oz and I've been looking for a while!

Cheers,
