Derwent state of orgin breaming

Postby vertigrator » Sat May 29, 2010 4:05 pm

Hi guys

I did a quick fish this morning of about 1.5 hours. I managed to land 2 bream (35cm & 37cm). I also lost two others. And saw some sea runners about. One of which put it's back out of the water and would have been pushing up to 6 pounds. So I'd say it is worth heading out on the Derwent tomorrow. 8)

I'll post up times and meeting place later. But I did my session at Montrose Bay from the boat ramp there. So I reckon that's a good spot to start at. If we don't find them after a few hours then we could always put the yaks back on the cars and head up river to Austins Ferry yacht club for a second go at it.

Cheers
Vert

No need for an early start IMHO. So I say start around 9 at Montrose Bay yacht club boat ramp. High tide is at 12:20. I'll have my radio on channel 15. ;)

Yeah yeah, let's see the pics. Bloody taswegians. 4 hours of wet drizzle for NO bream today. Not a donut, but the bream are hiding after the fresh in the system.

Mate I spent three hours breaming the Derwent yesterday for a big fat nothing. Hopefully the rain today stirred them up and I can get a few tomorrow.

Yes, I saw that. Not only very good, but has to boast too. Seriously there will be a bream here in Sydney soon.

Otherwise - anyone know how to transport a yak to Tassie? I didnt see anywhere in the rules that said I couldn't travel. :?

Hey Vert,

What are the dates for the SOO? I am keen to get out amongst them again, but timing is the issue. I am off to Canberra for the best part of the next two weeks, so the pressure is on to spend time with the family on the next couple of weekends.
Cheers

The dates are May 28 to July 7. Photograph your 2 biggest legal bream caught within those dates. You can upgrade to bigger fish as you go. (Which I've managed to do already. :) )

I'm in for another shot on the weekend if I can manage it. Just need to sort out some things to find out which day I may have free.
