Metro Snaps tonight

Postby Big D » Fri Apr 20, 2012 1:06 pm

guys and girls - I know it's late notice, but the winds, tides, solunar table and dusk are coinciding nicely tonight

"from 4:55 pm to 5:55 pm, very high activity
minor period (moonset). This period of high activity coincides with sunset; therefore the sun will exercise more influence, resulting in an excellent time for fishing"

I'm still a legal snapper in a yak virgin, but won't be staying out after dark by myself, so looking for a partner or 2.

Please give me a call on 0420699014 if you're intersted. I think we would want to be on the water by about 4.30 and fish through until just after dark.

Cheers

Hi Damien, hope you got out there tonight. I'm keen on Anzac Day evening for snapper; it looks like there's gonna be rough weather over the weekend which may improve the odds. I'll be in touch closer to the day.

Didn't get out - had a heap of filletting to do from a trip earlier in the morning and didn't get anyone (just read a could of groups went out successfully - spewing!)

I may not be working anzac day, yep it may be a bit sloppy but it should bring the snapper on. Will be in touch.

Sorry about that Damien - we made plans the previous night and didn't see your post until this morning - oh well - it was a little slower for us than its been previously, although we all ended up with something pink with blue spots in the the end.

Yeh no problem...it was rare for me to have a night off where conditions were sooo good...although I didn't suspect you guys would be out on such a calm night and after such a long, calm spell....was out at Seacliff in the a.m. and could see every grain of sand in 6m of water! Maybe next time....The solunar table's not as good for Wednesday but it looks to be calming down after a big blow wednesday to I might look at Wednesday p.m. All stocked up with Tommy, squid and Pilchard for burley!

Hey that doesn't sound so bad. What kind of fishing were you doing?

Squidley, I went out from Seacliff and got a couple of dozen gar, 1/2 a dozen squid, some tommies and a salmon! Not too much but the gar take me ages especially when the're not too big

Haha yeah, a decent catch of gar will keep you at the table for a while hey. Hopefully we get something with a better filleting time to weight ratio, something pink maybe.
