Apparently they are considering moving the bins further along, so they don't cause so much trouble for kayakers.

What are conditions typically like at this event? Would it be sensible to attend in a Revo 11?

Squidley, conditions can be wildly variable. Same as anywhere really. You take a punt and hope you can get out. If the conditions are good, you’ll get out in a bathtub. If they are bad... well you take what you can get. I have never seen a revo 11 but I know the 13 is perfect for the area. It comes down to how comfortable you are in your craft. There are sheltered options in the river, but I don’t know much about that. If it were me, I’d give it a crack. South West Rocks is just a beautiful place to holiday regardless.
Cheers,

Jon

It's very tempting. I'd feel as though I had transcended if I boated a cobia or tuna or spaniard, it's all very exotic to this croweater.

Of course. I admire your enthusiasm
The Tri is on weekend of 18th Feb so best combo of high tide/moon in the following 2 weeks.
I don't think that it is necessary to book this far out but perhaps for those wanting the choice spots maybe Oct-Nov. If required for leave applications, perhaps someone should give an opinion on dates. I don't have my tables with me at the moment.
