HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT - 2010 Fishing Comp

Postby leftieant » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:55 am

Earlier in the week, I hinted about a huge announcement that was in the wings regarding this year's Fishing Comp.

Well... here it is...

Thanks to VIKING KAYAKS (http://www.vikingkayak.com.au/), we are pleased to announce that the major prize for this year's Fishing Comp will be.. a..

BRAND NEW VIKING KAYAK.

This is a truly awesome prize, and on behalf of AKFF and all of our members, I would like to extend a very, very heartfelt thanks to Alex & the team at Viking Kayaks for their generosity!

So - this is how it's going to work.

# The major prize won't go to the person with the most points at the end of the year.
# Every month that you enter the Fishing Comp - whether you enter a fish, or whether you enter a Tale of Woe - you will receive ONE ENTRY into an end of year raffle.
# In the final month, you will need to tell us in 25 words or less "WHY I DESERVE A NEW VIKING KAYAK". There will be a specific thread opened up for this come December.
# The major prize winner will be selected from the entries above. The more months you enter the fishing comp, the better chance you will have!
# Delivery/Freight to be negotiated with Viking Kayaks by the winner.
# The winning member needs to be a full AKFF member (greater than 50 posts, and greater than 3 months membership) and needs to be an active member at the time of the prize draw (posted within the last calendar month).
# Previous major prize winners will be ineligible for entry.

We expect the prize draw to take place at some time after the final Fishing Comp for the year (ie, in the last 2 weeks of December 2010). Further information will come to hand closer to the date.

So, please put your hands together, thank VIKING KAYAKS for their support of our Fishing Comp, and most importantly, get out there fishing, and get entering!
Cheers

Ant

Bloody good stuff Alex - some lucky angler is going to be a very happy lad or lass this year.

For those who are reasonably new to the site, this isn't the first time the team from Viking have offered a kayak to a lucky AKFFer.

Dunno about anyone else, but I'll be entering each and every comp this year, I reckon - rain, hail or shine (or fish/no fish).

Thanks to Lazybugger for helping Alex arrange this!
