Come with a shark shield! Drifting in the bay itself should produce some nice squid. I would head further into Innes and probably launch of Pondolowie Bay. There is some great fishing to be had close to shore but I wouldn't be fishing in a kayak there by myself or without a shark shield. A guy was harassed by a Great White just around the corner fishing in his kayak off Dolphin Beach not so long ago.

I reckon when it comes to GWS's anything short of being eaten is being 'harassed'. :?
Water lapping against the hull, warm gentle breeze, fish straining on the line... how much sick leave do I have?

I have taken my outback out around marion bay a few times. My favourite launch spot is at Jolly Beach. To get there go to stenhouse bay and head left along a dirt track. Have caught big snook around there and you can also head over to the Willyama wreck which is worth throwing a few lures at for sweep.

Another spot would be cable bay (inside innes np) plenty of squid and whiting around and its possible to get a kayak in the water there. Pretty much find anywhere down there to put a kayak in the water and you should be able to find fish.

As for sharks, i havent seen them down there but its always a risk.

Its a great spot, i try and get down there once or twice a year.
It may be too early to drink...but it is never too early to think about it

I've fished Dolphin beach (where the shark was sighted) for some snook and good sized tommies. See viewtopic.php?f=17&t=26608&hilit=+Innes. Have caught a couple of samll Kingfish in this area, from the roack and beach - so you never know.
I agree that Stenhouse and Jolly's are two other spots I'd like to try. Both should produce.

Have fond memories of Marrion Bay. Visited in my teens with my older cousin and his mates. Enjoyed beer ,bongs and bourbon and woke tied to a camp stretcher sporting a new hair style and coverd in nikko pen...Bastards....
Was a nice spot back in the 80's wasn't to populated then...Hope it's the same now.
