Thanks to SAILING SCENE (http://www.sailingscene.com.au), it's time to announce the winners of the August Fishing Competition.
Tough month, tough month. Rubbish weather and even worse weather on weekends equated to not many people getting out for a fish, and for the first time in a long time, the reappearance of the dreaded Tale Of Woe.
Some wheat amongst the chaff though - SBD jagging a 'lucky bastard' drummer - 2 weekends in a row, some decent snapper appearing from the northern end of the country, and those who are brave enough to tackle the mighty winter Sea Carp returning some impressive fish.
Without further ado, this months winners are:
SBD - 50cm Drummer - 119 points
Alster99 - 39cm Bream - 114 points
Granpop - 37cm Bream - 108 points
Polylureosis - 43cm Sweetlip - 107 points
Lapse - 49cm Snapper - 96 points
And the Year to Date Results:
SBD - 873 points
Granpop - 843 points
Solatree - 827 points
AJD - 749 points
Ronston - 712 points
SBD taking a sneaky 30 point lead, trying to prove that the infamous Mod Curse is nothing but a myth. But with Granpop loose somewhere in the Tropics, with kayak and rod in tow, anything is possible, and there is every chance that he will pick up something impressive between now and the end of the year. And waiting in the wings is Mr Solatree, who, if he can weigh in something better than a garfish, is a chance for the top step yet!
Random prize winners this month are SBD, Polylureosis and Ronston. Congrats guys - PM me your full name and address, we'll get you out a little something.
Thank you linesmen, thank you ballboys, and we'll see you next month!
