Postby RedPhoenix » Sun Aug 09, 2009 8:58 pm

Name/UserName: Red
Date of Fishing Trip: Sat 1st, Sun 2nd, Sun 9th
Location: Various, around coochie.
Type and Size/Weight of Fish: Lots and lots of winter whiting (the wife put in a request). Largest around 26cm.
Tackle/Line/Lure Used: 6 pound braid (overkill), 4 pound leader.
Conditions: Heaven on earth.
Other Comments (optional): Picked up a fat little fella that I reckon might have hit the 30cm mark, but managed to butter-finger it overboard in the process of trying to pop it in the rear bucket.
Crumbed whiting for tea. Gotta love winter in QLD. Photos in trip report thread. Won't link 'em here; somehow, I don't think a little diver whiting has much of a chance against Astro's beast, the mulloway.. or just about anything else posted. ;)

Your problem is that the winter whiting of Coochie are pussies with no fight compared to the ones we get off Scarborough.

AJD
2/8/09
Wello reef
Unknown Wrasse - 22cm
6lb fireline with 10lb leader
Beautiful but cold conditions.
I just wish there were more/better/any real fish around.

This is pitiful I know. But I'm seriously struggling. 3 trips during the comp period and this is the best fish I've taken!
