Mar Fishing Comp - WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Mar Fishing Comp - WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Postby leftieant » Sun Mar 01, 2009 4:39 pm

Thanks to DAVO'S BAIT AND TACKLE, it's time for the March Fishing Comp. This month's comp will run from Sat 7 Mar to Sun 15 Mar. Rules are below:

Entries:
All entered fish will earn 30 points
All Tales of Woe will earn 10 points
Only one (1) fish per person per comp period. You can upgrade your entry by editing your original post - however your ORIGINAL post date will count for the mystery date (see below).

Hall of Fame
If you get a 1st place, you earn a BONUS 30 points, 2nd place = 20 points and 3rd place = 10 points.

Monthly winners
There will be 6 winners per month. 1st place will earn a bonus 70 points, down to the 6th place fish earning 10 bonus points.

So far it's all pretty standard, here's the new stuff though:

MYSTERY LENGTH: Each month there will be a 'mystery length'. The entry with the closest fish length to the mystery length will double their points for that month's entry. This will include any bonus points - for example, Hall of Fame, winners points, or both! You will need to enter a fish to qualify for this - Tale of Woe ain't gonna cut it.

MYSTERY LETTER: Each month there will be a mystery letter. The first angler with the mystery letter as the first letter of their nickname will earn double points for that month's entry - including bonus points. (eg - if the mystery letter was "L", and Leftieant was the first entrant with the letter "L", I would get double points for the month). Even if you enter a Tale of Woe, you are still eligible. If no-one with that letter enters the comp for that month, the mystery bonus will not be awarded.

MYSTERY DATE: Each month there will be a mystery date. All entries for that day (fish or Tale of Woe) will earn a 50% points bonus for that month's entry. Please note, the date you post your entry in the thread will be the date used, NOT the date you caught your fish.

All of these bonus points will compound - ie if you are lucky enough to land all 3 of the mystery bonuses, you would end up with 2 x 2 x 1.5 = 6 X YOUR POINTS SCORE FOR THE MONTH!

The idea of the mystery bonuses is to mix up the points table a bit, and give a few of the big guns a scare this year!

RANDOM PRIZES: Davo's Bait & Tackle have donated 4 lures per month for random prizes, which will run through until May at this point. There will be 4 random prize winners per month!

As always, the comp will run from the 1st Saturday to the 2nd Sunday of the month. Dates may be adjusted or extended slightly for some holiday periods, solely at the Moderators discretion (ie me).

Feel free to include crap fish like Pike and Wrasse but you must be willing to handle the verbal abuse and questioning of your manhood associated with the entry of such captures.

All entries should include the following information (along with a picture of the fish)

Only one (1) fish per person per comp period. Make it a good one!!!

Name/UserName of Angler
Date of Capture
Location
Type and Size/Weight of Fish
Tackle/Line/Lure Used
Conditions (optional)
Other Comments (optional)

If you are entering a Tale of Woe, please include the information below:

Name/UserName
Date of Fishing Trip
Location
Conditions
Tale of Woe (ie why didn't you get anything!)

Good luck and get out there!
Cheers

Ant
