Gday Jamie, yes mate there are a lot of members from Canberra - we are lucky that we have access to more good water than anywhere else in the country, or else we'd all be fishing on top of each other ;-) Hope to see you on the water sometime.

Hey Jamie. Keep your eye on the Trips - ACT sub-forum for upcoming planned trips. Most are spur of the moment of course.
Tough time now. Most of the Canberra and coastal spots are shut down due to the cold. There are still fish to be had, but hard work.

Thats a fact! I spent 2 days at island point, st george basin and came up with my first salt water donut. The first day was almost impossible with the wind and swells, second day glassed up but couldnt even sight a fish in the crystal clear waters. I think someone stole them. It's the only possible reason why I was unsuccessful.

Welcome Jamie. Maybe you can show me how to catch something other than a cold at googong sometime.
Cheers,

Dan.

I was wondering how you went Dan - I ended up opting for an offshore trip instead of heading to the Basin, and caught a cricket score of reef vermin and nothing good at all. Based on what I have heard from others it was a very ordinary weekend's fishing all round on the South Coast :(

OK that's it. If Squidder can't catch anything at the moment then what hope do we have?
Go for a nice paddle on the picturesque Googong Jamie. That way if you don't catch anything it won't matter.

Ado thats only true depending how far you have driven to fish Googong :( the scenery is no consolation for a donut when driving back to the Wollongong ;-)

caught is the operative word in that statement squidder. I love the quote in your sig by the way. It calls to mind the challenge of the married man

I don't see Squidder's signature. I haven't for ages. Browser incompatability?
Sorry for the hijack Jamie.
