ATTN New Members - How to make your First Post

Welcome aboard New or potential Yakers,

We are a friendly bunch here on AKFF and across the country we like to welcome you aboard and provide new tips to our new members. However, you can help us make this process even more successful by including your location in your "Say G'day" post. While its nice for someone in Qld to welcome aboard a new Melbourne member what most members really like to welcome is a new member in their area.

You will find if you include your location you have more chance of:
* getting an invite along to the next fishing trip
* getting an offer from another member to drop by their house or meet them somewhere to check out or try their kayak (important if you're looking for one)
* get some tips on some good kayak destinations or fish & techniques in your area.

So, the best thing to do is make sure the Subject title includes your location - such as:

QLD: Nundah - Lazybugger Checking in!
or
NSW: The Shire - Man who can't catch a fish saying hi!
or
Vic: Geelong - Freshwater Fanatic getting a yak!

The important thing is you need to start your Subject with your State, followed by suburb or general location in the city. This will help our members in your area take note & let you know of any trips coming up in your area.

If you've already made your own post and just noticed this one, don't panic... you can go back into your own post & click on edit & change the title. :D

Finally, so that we can all see where your from & what kayak you have don't be afraid to fill in your Profile. Click on user control panel & fill in the fields for Suburb & Kayak type, it will make it much easier for everyone on the board to answer your questions & help you out as you go along.
Cheers
