I too am reading Paul Kelly's "How To Make Gravy".

Also "The Happy Isles of Oceania" by Paul Theroux (about his kayakking journey around Australasia and The Pacific).

For the 2nd time, "Fate is The Hunter" by Ernest Gann.

For the 3rd time, "Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts.

There's too many good books out there.

Cheers.

Sword of Truth series.. thought I'd reinvestigate it now that he's finished all the books. I'm currently up to book #7 - 4 to go.

I'll have to look at Surface detail. Spotted it at the book shop the other day, and was tempted.. but will push my way through the seeker stuff first.

Other than that, a compilation of political cartoons around the time of 'truth overboard', "mastering regular expressions, 3rd edition", "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" (ferry ride read), and I really need to catch up on the bureau 42 lecture series on quantum physics now that they've finalised the last 4 issues.

This one starts off "In 1964 , when Bob Dylan and the Beatles where changing the times, two 23-year-old likely lads from Brisbane arrived in Hong Kong, keen to experience the mysterious Orient." The cover notes suggest it should be an entertaining read.

I've read "Over the top with Jim" and that was a great read. It's hard to believe how much Brisbane has changed in that time.

I've been going through the Frederick Forsyth and Robert Ludlum books recently. Ludlum is good but a little long-winded at times and I have really enjoyed Forsyth's books.

Just finished reading the Twilight Saga for the 22nd time :?

No I just finished book 13 from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series. I always hated these series kind of books but after reading this series for more then 10 years I even preordered this book from Amazon when i found out about it's release date

I am now reading 'The Last Watch' by Sergei Lukyanenko. Once you get over any translation issues it is quite ann easy read.

Next I will probably read some Penthouse Articles  Cause it is all about the articles right?

cheers

Gatesy, picked up a copy of this down at the newsagent. Strangely, it was wrapped in plastic. The articles are excellent, I'll mail it to you once I'm done.

Just finished a couple of Patrick O'Brians and have started Wind in the Willows which I found in the op shop recently. Always regretted not reading it to my kids, but I will be ready for grankids when and if, cheers, Dave.

Surface Detail is up to Banks usual brilliance. I'm also reading
The Diet Delusion, recommended by Peril. Just as difficult as promised but a real eye opener.
Value.Able by Roger Montomery. Easy to follow logic on valuing shares and it would be of massive importance if I was only slightly less account illiterate.
The Fishing Bible by Al McGlashan, dreadful editing, fab pics, and lots of knowledge.

I will read Tim Flannery's latest on this break as well. Always good to keep my finger on the pulse of the most active environmental activists.
