Headed out to Venus bay island at andersons inlet to try for EPs (don't really know how to catch them that well) but there wasn't enough cover for them when we got there so we gave up and headed for a nearby channel. Trolled a sx40 on the way and managed a baby 17 cm salmon. Made it to the channel and set up a bait rig for pippies and pillies, got bites straight out by little pickers. Tide started coming in quick and a lot of what looked like fish bits came floating down. Found out there was an absolute massacre going on underneath us from a lot of salmon and couldn't keep the hook down there for long. Flicked some plastics around and managed 3 flatheads, 4 salmon and a fairly big yakka. Before we left the craziest thing happened when I left my plastic dangling over the front of the kayak while I dealt with the other rod and it doubles over with a salmon. Got back with a flathead and a big treva as well as millions of small to average salmon thrown back but thought I'd keep one decent salmon and try smoking it. Didn't get any photos
