Vic: Holland's Landing

Shot down to Gippy today with Camoyak to have a crack at some bream.
The weather was lookin crap in the morning but we soldiered on and hit the water @ 7:30 am. The skies settled a bit but the wind was still up.
Before long we had a few small ones around 22, then one good one that went 33 to the fork. Throw in a few lost fish and it wasnt too bad of a start.
Later in the day as we moved around we caught a few more around the 30 mark and I also got smoked by one crackin fish that when he realised he was hooked just went nuts and busted me off :( . All the fish we caught were on harbodies, Sx40 and Atomic...
Also, bumped into to a local named Brett who was kayaking and he caught a crackin fish that I believe went 43. It was well over a kilo. I took a few photos of it B4 he released it...

Good report mate, nice fish. The bloke with the big bream is Brett Geddies who writes for fishing monthly, he is a gun angler around the gippy lakes.
Cheers Bilby.

The current was pretty minimal. The tide seemed to be coming in until about 11am ish I think and then it all went slack and quiet for about an hour or so. As far as the speed of the current I reckon it was perfect for just drifting along and casting into the banks. The wind was a little annoying at times.

The 8lb is for those pesky Perch that always get in the way....

Super light weight plastics or finesse hard bodies.

Small Vibes work a treat too...

Sounds good.
I havent had the privelidge of tangling with an EP yet so that is something to look forward too. Rumour has it that if you find one you have struck gold...
We will tee something up for early March then. I am sure we can gather a few, possibly even the Moe boys as well. Does a weekend or weekday suit you Gundy? I am flexible...

I'm pretty flexible mate. Probably a weekday would suit better as there is less traffic on the water - but we have to pick a good day! Its shallow and can get up nasty and very quickly... :?
