Adrian have you given any thought to putting the Scotty just below the drink holder on the centre console, it would be easy to reach from the seat and easy to access for bolting and not interfere with the paddle stroke....personally I think the lure position shown on AWTY Swing would be too close to have a Scotty mount, as it would restrict your movements on board and make side saddle seating difficult.

But my preference will always be for gunwale mounting of adjustable holders regardless of brand

Why is that, Richo?

Also, I want to fit a pulley rope/trolley system for drogue - How did you manage to bolt on the attachments so far to the stern (I'm wondering how to reach that far back and underneath, through the rear hatch?)?

Really appreciate the tips.

Adrian
re the gunwale mounts, they are securely attached to the boat, and the rods are always tethered, and gives me that slightly extra spread from the boat and paddles, and also leaves me a clean cockpit, with the exception of the sounder.

re the anchor trolley: the saddle on the bow had bolts as expected being easy to reach from the front hatch...the aft saddle is screws only as I could not reach that far back, and if you use a section of bungy cord in the trolley to take the shock of any jerking it will be OK, I mostly do anchoring, or drift chute with the load on the stern and no sign of any deck stress in the plastic under that saddle...you could always use wellnuts there if you were in doubt

Have a look at these rod holder bas mounts.

They are held in place by a big nut and there is another threaded cap nut to stop water ingress into the hull.

The Berkeleys wil fit them (though a little snug at first)

Love your boat Richo. :D
