Tempo Rudder Plans

Postby alcbb » Mon Jan 25, 2010 8:55 am

hi all

I'm in the process of designing a rudder system & an electric outboard mount for the tempo (as i want one for myself)

my way of thinking is to make one of each using a different design for each and just swap over on the connecting pin to the hull.
The foot pedals will be the same for both setups.

I'm autocadding up as i go so there will be a set of plans for whoever wants them which you will be able to take to your freindly local cnc laser cutter to get some done for yourself....

will post pics of my progress as i go.

ditched the pvc back idea and will keep that for the electric as its way overkill for just a rudder.

ive gone with a 1/2" solid stainless shaft and a sandwich plate welded on so i can have a replacable polycarbonate rudder.
the bushes are cut from nylon 20mm thick

heres my progress on the prototype.....

G'Day - really enjoyed looking at your progress. I would be very interested in a set of plans. I have a Viking Aqua II and hopefully I can modify your finished plans to suit it. Dyneema cord seems to be popular with spearfishes. Maybe try the contact listed at:

Hope he proves helpful....
Dry lures catch few fish. Wet lures seem to catch half as many.....

Or you could try using some high weight (eg 100lb) braid. Craig would probably sell you 10-20metres that you'd need off a spool.

ive got a tekota 800 full of 80lb right here in the shed :)

still trying to make the pedals fit properly... theres not a flat surface on these things to be seen anywhere.

I had to hit the holes in the back with a heatgun to get the alignment good enough for the pin to go through.
